Farnham & District Ramblers

South-west Surrey

One of the national long distance trails, the North Downs Way, starts by the new sculptural sign at Hinkley’s Corner near Farnham Station, 153 miles from Dover. On Thursday March 17th this sculptural sign was fromally unveiled with some of our members present. This was effectively a relaunch of the trail. Our footpath maintenance team made improvements to eight miles of the trail on our patch in March.

The trail has been recorded (from a camera in a backpack) for the new Google Trekker, which is a Street View for off-road areas. This article on the relaunch appeared in the Farnham Herald.

(Thanks to Anne Pullinger for the photos.)
