Farnham & District Ramblers

South-west Surrey

Farnham Town Council are holding a Festival of Walking from 21st to 28th May 2017. They have asked Chris Shepheard, formerly Director of the Rural Life Centre at Tilford, to organise the event. There are 36 walks, with at least 2 walks on each day of the week. There are  both long and short walks and a number of walks which start and end in Farnham town centre. Many of the walks will be themed. The walking festival will be a major part of Farnham Town Council’s “Step into Spring 2017” week which will culminate with a fete-like event in Gostrey Meadow on the 28th. More information about the festival and details of all of the planned walks can be found on the Farnham Town Council website .

We have played an active role in the planning and organising of the event and have provided 7 walks, one for each day of the festival. All of our walks are planned to start at 10am. Many other local organisations are also taking part.

Some of our walks also appear in our normal Walks Programme. You may attend these without booking (our normal insurance covers you on these walks). For all other walks, including ones led by a member of Farnham Ramblers but not in our Walks Programme, you must book a place using the above link.

Regular updates can be found on the Facebook page “Farnham Walking Festival” and a Twitter account @WalkFarnham. There is also information on Nextdoor.
