17th OCTOBER 2026 : LAST OF THE SUMMER 2026 15 MILE WALK SEASON. The 15 mile Saturday walks season comes to an end for 2026 on Saturday, 17th October 2026. This circular walk will start at The White Horse in Hascombe at 9.30. Please join us! We plan to celebrate the end of the 2026 season at the above pub with drinks and/or food. Check out Farnham Ramblers Walks programme for details. This summer 8-15 mile walks took place in the most beautiful areas with stunning views to enjoy. Thank you to all who led walks this year and made them so memorable! Summer 15 milers will start again in March 2027 - again on the 3rd Saturday in the month. Watch this space for more details.

HOLIDAY TO CHESTER: Monday 31^st May to Saturday 5^th June 2027: A coach will take us from Farnham to Cheshire . Our tour takes us on a journey to explore these wonders and more - whether we’re relaxing on a cruise down the River Dee, marvelling at the engineering feats of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, exploring the grand rooms of Tatton Park or enjoying a stroll around the tranquil Ness Botanic gardens, this tour has something for everyone. You will have received an email with all the information so check out your inbox or go to the website, log in under members (at the top of this eNewsletter will you see how to log in) and the Invitation to the Chester holiday can be found under the Members tab then scroll down to Correspondence. HOW WE WORK TOGETHER TO PRESERVE AND IMPROVE OUR FOOTPATHS & BRIDLEWAYS

Tim Devis (a Footpath Secretary for the group), along with Martin Childs (footpath maintenance team leader) survey our footpaths, investigate and report any issues, organise working teams to repair and replace stiles, gates, and signposts, and clear overgrowth and obstacles. They work with local authorities with regard to development proposals, rights of way, pedestrian access and safety. And this is what our group has achieved this year:4th April: Repair/add steps- Lower Bourne.

12th May: Revetments to path beside stream - Lower Bourne.

14th July: Repair pedestrian bridge, Farnham Little Pond

11th Aug: Repair two kissing gates, clear footpath vegetation - Old Park Lane, Farnham

8th Sept: Repair footbridge, clear footpath vegetation

IMPORTANT DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Saturday, 10^th October 2026: Autumn Social, South Farnham School, starting at 18.00: We are delighted to announce that John Ericson will be giving us an entertaining talk on Inn Signia: The artwork and stories behind peculiar pub names. We will partake of a “Shared Supper” – so bring your dish/pot for all to share as a part of a buffet. Bring your own liquid refreshment, cutlery, plates etc. More information to follow.

Saturday, 21^st November 2026: Annual General Meeting. More information to follow and as always, be prepared for something exciting after the administration part!
